Shunt question - I've noticed anytime I do anything that would raise my pressure (cough poo (sorry))I have an explosion in my back where my spine is - I can only describe it as a firework goes off in my back. I have an LP shunt and I was just wondering if anyone had felt anything similar and if it had just settled back down?

Yes, when I had my LP shunts I had the same thing, especially when walking or bending. It turned out that it was affecting my sciatic nerve and the nerves around that area in my lumbar spine, which is why they revised it after 5 years. Unfortunately the damage for me is now permanent. It can happen in some cases, as some cant tolerate an LP shunt. Talk to your Neurologist about the problems you're having.
