Hi guys,

I am sooo very frustrated at the moment, I went to see my Neurologist on the 30th of May and he said that
I need a lp and it would only be about 3weeks max wait. Its been 7 weeks in total, I phoned his secretary today
and she put told me to phone the lp appointment centre. I did this and the dr that does the lp's is on holiday at the
moment until the 10th July so they have all stopped. What no cover or plus they could not tell me how far along the
line I am as they have had problems with beds etc. Its a shambles.

I have been experiencing bad headaches and bad bad pain over my right eye. I went the opticians today to see if they
could notice any swelling and they referred me to the eye clinic at my local hosptial. I received a phone call at 6 tonight
to attend the clinic tomorrow on an emergency app - so it must be urgent. Lets hope I get it done quickly. I really dont have
much confidence in the hospital I should be attending after all the waiting and problems they are having.

Thanks for listening had to let off steam.

Bonnie

Bonnie I'm so sorry you're having such a miserable time of it, and making you wait so long for an LP is just ridiculous, especially as your pressure is being left knowing that it is already high, which means it puts your vision at risk. This is not acceptable and should not be happening at all. The fact that your optician had to be the one to move this along for you is getting to be standard practice no matter where you live.

I don't blame you for not having confidence in that hospital because I think they have treated you apallingly. hug

Bonnie, be sure to get them to tell you what your opening pressure is, as well as what the closing pressure is. Insiste they remove fluid to bring your pressure down and then take your meds right away to help keep the pressure down longer.

After lp: lay flat for at least one hour
no lifting anything over 10 pounds
take your diuretics right away after the lp.

I so hope you get this done tomorrow. Keeping fingers crossed
