Hi all. Haven't been on in a while. So I had my shunt placed and had my first adjustment a few weeks ago. At the surgery they put it at 1.5 at my adjustment I was still having pressure and pain so he set it at 2. By the following week I was insane with pain I thought oh crap maybe i was having low pressure pain... so I went back in and the NS was suprised to find it was at a .5 ! Either he did ot when he adjusted it or its doing it on its own..I'm so tired of all this back and fourth. Its hurting like hell again. Not quite as bad but not good either. Just feels like pressure pain. NS was still a bit concerned with my vision. So I called then again today because it feels off and she said he set it to 1.... now why would it be why would it be a 1!!??? We were both on the same page I thought if he's still woried about my eyes and I wad having pain anything put it at 1!!??? So tomorrow I have to go see his pa since he's not there ... arrg don't understand. Does anyone have problems with their shunt resetting? I have the medtroni. Strata valve

Are you by any chance using an iPad?  The iPad2 has been tested (and was positive) for causing shunt valves to change adjustment due to the magnets inside the tablet.  I have to keep reminding myself while I lug around my iPad in my purse to keep in away from the shunt - wear my purse off the other shoulder.  I have a newer iPad, but I don't want to take any chances.
Not sure if carrying a laptop would do the same.  It is not just the carrying either.  It's using the computer on your lap too close to the valve.
Might this be a possibility?

I agree with Linda, here's some a link to information that I think you will find helpful and may shed some light on this. Strata Valves and Magnetic Fields

Thanks girls I'm now more confused tho after Thursdays appt. The couldn't get it to move past .5 took lots of trying and they finally dot it at 1 turns out when the NS thought he had it last week at 1 it wasn't the pa said the reader will wiggle around a bit but will lock down when its reached its point..... so the sent me for x ray and its confirmed now that it is at a one. They could not believe how stuck it gets ;( she distrusts it was ever on a 1.5 after surgery like we thought. So now I'm on 1 until end of September ;( not feeling much different. It's annoying how big of a discrepancy is there and I've been adjusted like 4 tines how come this wasn't noticed?as for the ipad thing I don't have one and when I have used them I keep them at arms length away. Something ti be careful of were thinking of buying one. Anyways these headaches are horrible I let go of my job because I was always out sick and I couldn't handle the guiltof it ;( ill have to find other ways to make income when I can until I get a handle on this. I really
