I will start by apologizing if any agreement or grammar mistake in my writing, because I am Brazilian and I do not know English and I'm writing by google translator. Unfortunately here in Brazil is still very little is known about IIH and rare such a group.
My name is Amanda Karen, today I'm 21 years old.
there are 4 years old to live with IIH, in May 2008 I started feeling headaches and having blurred vision, but it was in October 18, 2008 I had a major crisis of pain that never happened.
At first they talked about migraine or stress, but in a query rotinia to check on the TDA (disorder and deficiency of attention) that neuropediatrician seeing the fundus thought of the possibility of IIH and was confirmed with a puncture.
First puncture I suffered a lot because the needle did not pass and I fainted. The needle left inside me pie. After this disaster I still had 3 more accidents puncture during these 4 years.
On April 24, 2010 I placed a magnetic valve for occipto peritoneal derivation, but she unfortunately solucionaou my pains.
I even take more than 45 pills a day, at 38 am today. It takes more bored and bored during the day for exams and hours and hours and resonances ains imaging exams and my life still continues today in the battle living one day at a time.
My big win was the university that the doctors did not believe I could. Despite being humiliated by a teacher in front of the whole class side effect of a medication I'm still there, struggling day to day pos. some are easier wrapping other more difficult. But is my fight. thank you Very Happy

Welcome to the group Amanda Karen! I'm glad you're able to use the Google translator and join in. Hopefully, you've at least found that you are not alone!!!

It sounds like you have a great attitude and doing all you can to adjust to living with IIH. I think it's commendable that you are going to class and finding your way..one day at a time is a great philosophy!
