This is the way in to all of RNIB group's services and to find out about other services in your local area. Just call or email and we will put you in touch with the relevant RNIB or Action for Blind People service. The helpline also handle product sales, talking book enquiries and magazine subscriptions.

Advice Service

A central point of contact for free and independent advice, information or support on anything to do with sight loss. If you want to know anything about living with sight loss or just want to talk to someone about how you are feeling, our friendly, experienced and well trained advice workers can give you information and advice on coping with sight loss, eye conditions, registration, benefits, tips for managing daily life, social care, rights, discrimination, technology, housing, employment, education, leisure and anything else you might want to know about.

Emotional support service

Sometimes sight loss can be overwhelming. We have a team of qualified telephone counsellors who are all experienced in working with people to help them deal with the emotional impact of losing their sight. The team can provide a number of one to one counselling sessions and/or group counselling sessions all carried out over the phone so there's no need to travel. The service is free and completely confidential.

Eye Health Information

Provides easy to understand information on a range of eye conditions, aiming to help you understand your condition and discuss any treatment options you may have. The team also produce the Understanding series of leaflets and a range of factsheets on different eye conditions.

Legal Rights

Our legal rights service can provide you with specialist advice and representation to help you get what you are entitled to or challenge discrimination. The team take on cases relating to welfare benefits, discrimination and social care. They can also advise on education.

Talking books service

RNIB's Talking Book Service offers over 19,000 high quality audio books, delivered direct to your door. Choose from the UK's largest collection of unabridged audio books on DAISY CD. Our speedy on-demand service means you receive the books you want to read straight away. You can choose six books at a time and swap them anytime you like. The subscription of £82 per year includes the loan of a DAISY talking book player, or if already have one, you can have a books only subscription for £50 per year.

Talk and support

Join one of our telephone friendship groups and meet like minded people for a chat and support. Groups meet over the phone once a week. We match people to groups based on interest and also run book clubs over the phone for our Talking Book customers. Some of our groups have now been running for ten years with many firm friendships built up over that time. The service is free for you to use.

Join our community of members and keep up to date with the latest news, products, events and special offers from RNIB. Members get a quarterly magazine, discounts off Vision Hotels, invitations to take part in regional member forums, a private members only area of the RNIB website, an easy pay scheme for RNIB products and special offers and promotions.

Campaign supporter's network

Help RNIB Campaign for a better world for blind and partially sighted people. Get involved in local campaigns and support our work to influence the government on national policy. Meet like minded people who want to make a difference by becoming a campaign supporter.

Volunteer for RNIB

Volunteers work with us to support blind and partially sighted people in a variety of locations across the UK. We have over 100 different volunteering roles available which can be done from home, based at an RNIB Group office or out and about in the community.

As a volunteer with RNIB Group, you'll receive on-going support, guidance and training from your designated manager. You'll also receive a monthly magazine to keep you in touch with our organisation and the latest volunteering news.
