I'm so sorry the remission was so short.
I know that there are many of us that have had problematic shunts, I myself have in the past, but my first LP shunt worked fantastically, and I only had it revised to a VP shunt because my back couldn't tolerate it. The VP shunt I have now has worked incredibly well for the past 4 years.
The unfortunate thing is not many people come back and post when their shunts are successful, which is why you see more posts of the ones who have had problems. You could be one of the successful ones, so please don't concentrate on the horror stories, because although there might seem a lot of them, there are more of us who have done very well with a shunt.
