Today after driving my doctor mad about continuing to put weight on no matter what I do, I was referred to Weigh Ahead, and I had my first appointment today. It lasts for 12 weeks and I get help and support from a full team which is great. They will look at how to adapt my diet further taking into account my mobility and medication, all of which haven't helped to keep my weight down, despite my living on low fat yoghurt and fruit.

The physio will be able to give me the correct exercises to do that will help me to exercise but will not add to the pain of my nerve damaged back or broken ankle, that has a plate and pins. Hopefully after banging on about this for years, this just might help me get back to my normal weight. I get to see the dietician as well as the physio, there's also a doctor and psychologist. It's a friendly and encouraging place, and they also give you phone support as well as a food diary. There is also a forum that you can go to that has all the other people that are on this programme to talk with.

I shall keep you posted how I get on, and how well it works. So for those of you in the UK, that are in my position, if you see it working for me you may want to get your doctors to refer you to them as well, they are all over the UK. Very Happy

That's awesome Heidi!! I have to admit I had the most progress when I joined a similar program here. I had access to a physiologist, dietician, and behaviorist. It was a 12 week program, but they monitored my progress for a year. It was really nice and I did end up losing weight..I hope your program offers as much support! Good luck!! I can't wait to hear about your progress =]

Keep us posted on how you get on Heidi! I lost 1st on Topamax and have seemed to stalled 😢 I'm a UK size 16 but my neuro wants me to lose more weight but with my mobility getting worse due to my joints getting worse by the day I just don't know how I'm going to do it? So if you get any tips pass them our way! Very Happy
