I can see, but nowhere near as well as I could just a few years ago. The last six months it has gotten much worse. I think the only reason I don't stub my toes is because I have made a concerted effort to keep things out of the way so I don't trip at night.

I cann't see a thing in the dark, it's the worst time for me, I might as well have my eyes closed. I've made sure I sleep next to the door so I know that I don't have to walk around anything.

Yeah, my vision's a lot worse at night too..depth perception is definitely limited. I actually did break my big toe a few years ago, so be careful out there! lol

Do you have problems if you go out in the dark too? I'm terrible, I've no depth perception at all so steps, kerbs and uneven surfaces are like an obstacle course night vision 621211

ts lovely to know im not on my own with things like this! after bringing this up with my neuro again he has sent me for vitamin level tests..hes not to sure as to why its happeneing still but as least he is starting to recognise that its an issue for me.

if im outside i can see a little better in the dark purely as its lighter then in my bedroom with the lights off and the curtains closed! but i cant see all that far.

jenn Very Happy

I leave a light on in the kitchen which lights up the hallways in the house. I have three cats, two of which are real good about giving me a warning meow to let me know they are there. The third one, who has dark fur, seems to enjoy playing road obstacle with me. I have stepped on her more than once already.
I also keep flashlights all over the place in case the lights go out at night. My brain depends on my eyes to determine and maintain balance. Makes driving at night very difficult too.
I am so glad I don't have to deal with paps. That would be just too much!

I also have night vision issues leave a lamp on to sleep so i dont fall. Driving is almost impossible and only in case of an emergency at night.

I too have trouble seeing at night.  Which makes it hard for my 30 mile drive to and from work during the winter when the mornings are dark and the afternoons are dark on my way home.  I also have problems with headlights at night.  Completely stuns me each time  .  I try to ignore them, but I have the attention span of a gnat so every time I see lights I'm 'ooooohhh'

Any chance of joining a carpool?  It really can be so very dangerous to drive under such circumstances.

I have learned to adapt a bit.  I always back into my assigned parking space (live in an apartment complex) but I pull in instead when I arrive home at night.  Depth perception is just too rotten to try it.  I also try to limit my driving to highways where there is more light than the country back roads.  I reduce my speed, stay in the slow lane and have learned to watch the lines, both the fog line (on the right) and the dotted line on the left.  Headlights drive me nuts, too.   But, I used to drive commercially, so I am able to draw on the 2+million miles of truck driving I did to help me drive my car now.

There is no one I can ride with to work because most of my coworkers live in the county that the school is in and I live in a different county.  I use the lines as well.  I have learned to adapt my driving and only go out at night when I absolutely have to.

Man I knew I wasn't going crazy. I had to put a dang night light in my room like I'm 5 again lol I dread being late to see a movie at the theaters because unless that screen is bright I can't see ANYTHING! I don't know if it's linked but I imagine so since it's only happened recently with my diagnosis.
