Any meds left for me? Empty

Hi all,

I just got labs back that have my blood creatinine level pretty high.  They were high last year too, but now my GP is worried since it has been a year.  My neur tried to get me off lasix and just keep me of 75mg of topamax, but they headaches built back, and I went back on a low dose of 20 mg of lasix a day.  I guess I'd rather have headaches, but then of course pressure will build back up, and optic nerves will get in trouble again.  I am already fighting an inrelated normal pressure glacoma possibility in my left eye.  I am allergic to diamox, so that is out as well.  I really would like to avoid a shunt, if possible, but that might be next.  Has anyone else had kidney problems form lasix?  If so, did you reverse the damage by stopping the lasix?

Thanks!

Sherry

Kidney function may eventually improve, if caught in time. Have a look at http://www.ihaveiih.com/f6-iih-and-medication for threads on different medications members have tried. You can also contact the Intracranial Hypertension Research Foundation at http://www.ihrfoundation.org/ for suggestions.
