well today i had a phone call from neuro's secretary (at last only been waiting for appointment since december) to tell me that the neuro has recieved my scan, blood test,and lp results and after reviewing them has decided to passed me on to another neuro( a Proffessor adrian williams) i think this was the doctor i saw when i was in the QE having my MRV scan he was the one that told me about my brain slipping ( but dont quote me on it my brain dont work like it used to ), They have forwarded a fax to Mr williams saying i need to be seen A.S.A.P so i have to wait now for an appointment, another waiting game ........

its driving me mad i need questions answered
................. i got a banging head, my eyes are all blurry, pain in my neck, inbetween my shoulder blades, in my right side around kidney area front and back, my painkillers anit doin nothin and A&E just tell me to up my tabs ,give me an eye test and wait for my appointment and all i seem to be doing is going and lying in bed feeling ill............

Hi Tracey,

Definitely your neuro have a reason to refer you to the new neurologist. The result may have been inconclusive for him to accurately come up with a diagnosis hence, the referral. I empathize in your pains for waiting. In as much as we always want our medical needs addressed immediately, medical practitioners handle so much load that waiting is inevitable. I do hope you can have all the patience to see through to the end of the waiting game.

Pull yourself together and try to put your mind off the symptoms bothering you now. For sure when your appointment day comes and the right diagnosis and treatment is finalized, you will have a chance for a sigh of relief.

We are just here for you. Keep on ranting, its natural and it releases pent up stresses. But also, after each rant, take a moment to pause and relax. A little feeling of peace and serenity goes a long way. Wishing you a better health and recovery in the coming days.

Saleh, thankyou for your reply, yes it is frustrating waiting for your appointment especially when i had a phone call the 4th december telling me i needed to have tests done and see the neuro urgently and then 3 months later still waiting for tests, because they lost ur notes , it was only by me constantly phoning them that i got my tests done and appoinment on its way(so i thought) and when i had the phone call yesterday it just upset me Update ..........tracey b 657602

Trace, good to hear you are feeling a bit better today. Hardly surprising you were feeling down, all that confusion is enough to floor anyone. Good thing is you are heading the right direction now. You are right to hound them for an appointment, maybe if you annoy then enough they will bump you up the list to get you off their back Very Happy

Tracey, Geri is right you can hound them all you want till they put you ahead in the list. Just make sure by doing the prodding that they would prioritize you not pull your name off the list. Wishing all would be best for you. Sometimes you have to give a little understanding to these doctors secretary, they're almonds you know :P .

Sorry for the belated reply Trace, it's good that they've referred you to the Neuro Opthalmologist, it means they are taking things seriously, and possibly want a second opinion too, before deciding on anything.

As an ex-employee of the NHS, I can tell you that, the Secretaries and Admin staff can only do so much, as it is down to the Doctors. The most information they can give you is by what's in your notes, or maybe get a nurse to speak to you. They can pass on your messages to medical staff, but ultimately it is the doctor who decides when your appointment is going to be. So until he tells them when, they are unfortunately as much in the dark as you are.

It might be worth speaking to your GP, and see if he can hurry things a long for you, he could phone or write to the Consultant you are under, and explain to him how your health is at the moment, and why he thinks you should be seen sooner.

Stay positive, and keep reminding yourself that although you are still waiting to see what the doctors are going to do, believe it or not, you are getting closer to answers. Keep in touch Update ..........tracey b 539880
