Sherry, we haven't had many members report on having stent surgery.  If you do meet the qualifications for getting one, it seems that the stent is far less intrusive than the shunt surgery.  It offers hope for a "cure" rather than to just make things better, as is often the case with a shunt.  
Keep us updated on your progress.

there's someone on DailyStrength PTC forum who had stents, pretty sure it was magnatomamma.  you could message her to ask.  or also ask your question on that forum because there may be others there.

I had this done on November 22nd. I haven't had the chance to get around to doing a write up on my situation yet.. I have been planning on doing that.

My vision test is tomorrow, so I will report more after. I will tell you that I saw the imagery of the before and after of my vein. What a difference! I also no longer have the "pressure" headache.. however, I do still have a headache from the stent placement itself. Apparently having a foreign object in my head may cause pain for a few weeks..

Also, they did a cerebral angiogram to decide if I was a candidate. Basically the pressure inside the vein had to be raised, not just by CSF pressure. It was (a lot) so I chose to do it.

I had the eye follow-up field test and check on the pressure. The swelling has greatly reduced, the vision field test showed great improvement. My Optic seemed shocked and surprised and asked me what I had done. I told him about the Stent and he was just amazed. I do not need to see him again for 4 months because the improvement was so phenomenal.
