Hi everyone, I am new to the forum but not new to IH. I have had IH for about 6 years and thought maybe it would get a little better as I got older, but that does not seem to be the case. I'm 51 and got IH after meningitis following surgery. I'm managed on diamox ranging from 375(the good ole days) to as high as 3000mg. I'm currently on 2000mg but still having a lot of eye pain(without papilledema). My doc does not seem concerned since he sees no papilledema on exam but I am miserable. Most days I can barely touch my eyes, and they feel best with hot compresses and a little pressure. I've always have to sleep upright(not new) and mornings are the worst(till 3-4pm, not really morning anymore). Are there other specialized tests in the office that can be done by your neuro-opthalmologist besides field testing or do they only do other tests if you have papilledema? I've read that some docs do retinal pictures, ultrasound etc. I've only ever had a field test once a year. Also is it common for LP's to be done with fluoroscopy? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!
