If my blood pressure normally runs on the low side meaning 90/60 to 100/60 would I be able to tolerate a shunt?

If my blood pressure normally runs on the low side meaning 90/60 to 100/60 would I be able to tolerate a shunt? I was just wondering. What's weird with me is that my CSF levels are off the charts in the presence of a low blood pressure. I know medically the two have nothing to do with the other but since removing CSF can cause a low bp that is scary you know?

I have always had low blood pressure and I've been shunted now for 12 years. I tolerate the shunt very well, but I would ask your Doctor about it because each individual is different. I've always thought my blood pressure was probably low because of the medication, so I make sure that I always drink plenty of fluids. It's always best to check with a medical practitioner.hug

Thank you Heidi. I am leaning towards a shunt and I was wondering what was the (straw that broke the camel's back) for you when it came to finally deciding to get a shunt. Was it after trying meds and multiple LPs that were consistently high without feeling better? If so, how well do you feel now with a shunt and is it worth it? I know this is a personal question but I am trying to get as much info as possible from people that have been through it to make an informed decision; thanks.
