So yesterday I had yet another Lp done to check my pressure because I am still having headaches. The pressure is low and I have no infection in the spinal fluid thank goodness but still doesn't explain why I still have headaches. :( So as I was getting discharged from the surgery center where I had my lp I was checked by my neurosurgeon one more time and he said that I now have something else that is causing my headaches that was missed along with IIH. Great :( So he has to do more testing to see what's going on and go from there. I swear I just can't win.

I'm so sorry you're having to go through all of this! It's so difficult to manage when it's one thing after another..I completely understand!

Just out of curiosity, what was your pressure? I assume they've explored the option of low pressure headaches/leaking. Unfortunately, IIH does make us more susceptible to other headaches, so there are many possiblities. You must be so frustrated and disheartened! Have you found anything that helps to relieve some of the pain? Warm or cold compresses over your eyes or at the base of your skull..heating pad or cold pack on your spine. Does position seem to help..better when you're flat or up? Changing position can help for low and high pressure, but I'm not sure about any of the others. I haven't tried them, but there are members that also have mentioned using 4Head (which you can get on Amazon.com in the states) and the Migracap..I think there's more information in the Alternative Therapies section about that one.

I do think it's very encouraging that your neurosurgeon seems to believe you and is willing to pursue other options..hopefully you'll find relief soon!!!

*hugs* I agree with Julie ... it's wonderful that your doctor is being thorough and not giving up on finding the right answers for your treatment. But I know from experience that all the testing and invasive procedures are very exhausting and can be disheartening, especially when you are already in so much pain. Hang in there and try to stay positive!

I know my neurologist says its very common for IH patients to also be diagnosed with migraines, and that is part of my diagnosis. So there can definitely be other factors causing the headaches in addition to the IH. And it sounds like your doctor is doing the right stuff to get to the bottom of yours.
