That pretty much says it all..lol. I have a lot more energy, I'm sleeping better, and my metabolism seems to be improving..I'm actually starting to lose weight again. It hasn't helped much w/ my pain yet, but at the IHRF Conference one of the presenters mentioned that it's helped several of her patients. My practitioner said it could take some time, but I've been dealing w/ this for 12 yrs..a lot of build up I guess. If you find a good practitioner, they're usually focused on helping you feel better and will work w/ you on costs.

Hi
I am the parent of a 14yr old with IIH. We have gone through all the various meds available and have had to use the surgical route to stabilise the condition. I am interested in looking into accupuncture as an alternative. We are based in Ireland. My question is should a practising accupuncturist know the coorect pressure points on a body which would relate directly to IIH? Help
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure that an acupuncturist would know specifically about IIH, but they know all the meridians and how they affect different areas of the body. I described IIH and symptoms to my practioner, and he was able to figure it out. He also asks about my reaction to each treatment..how I felt and how long it lasted. I think it's just a matter of making sure you're seeing someone reputable. Most places have some sort of licensing board, so you may be able to check w/ them for referrals. I hope that's helpful..good luck!!!

Thank you so much for creating this post, having read the positive feedback it has had, I think I am ready to take the plunge and ask my GP for a referral to the acupuncture clinic Very Happy

Don't get me wrong! I am not going to abandon conventional medicine, after all I have an LP valve already under my skin above my hip, and I am on numerous medications for other ailments, but I really do not see what I have to lose by trying acupuncture Very Happy

thank you for the recommendations, I'll keep you posted, as I hope you will Very Happy

Here's to health, hopefully! Lol x
