I had to have a procedure for partially detached retina and told that I'm "high risk" for detachment. I have a friend that has a niece with IIH and she said this child has had multiple detachments. They apparently were told that it was from IIH. I had no idea and just wondering if any of you have had issues?

He suggested I put a humidifier in any room where I spend a significant amount of time and told me to use 500 drops of artificial tears a day if needed, but I had to be careful. Were you given any other suggestions?

I have never heard of this.  I have a friend who has what sounds like retinal problems but it wasn't described as a detachment.  and I don't know how treatment for dry eye is going to help.  is this a neuro-ophthalmologist?

I have just seen it in reference to untreated high pressure because it's attached to the optic nerve, but my pressure has been controlled. The retina specialist just said I was "high risk" for detachment, but I have now had a few different people mention it to me in reference to IIH. That's why I had wondered if anyone else had had any issues.

He mentioned the dry eyes in reference to overall eye health. He said that I need to keep them lubricated to prevent any further damage. I lost peripheral vision even with the treatment, so he may just be trying to prevent any other conditions. I'm not sure.

I also saw the neuro-ophthalmologist and he had started me on artificial tears for dry eye years ago, so maybe I assumed they were related.
