Well, I am back.
The doctors visits went well. Both were very encouraging. The Neurologist wants to see me back in one year, too.
The Neuro-Ophthalmologist told me that I know have: Visual Vestibular Mismatch Syndrome. It sure does describe what my symptoms are. Seems my eyes are giving information that doesn't quite match with what my ear and my legs are saying. That is creating the conflict, and that makes me dizzy. He is suggesting following the MAV (Migraine associated vertigo) diet: no wine, cheese, msg, spicy foods. He also suggested adding Tai Chi to my list of things to do.
The Neurologist thinks that my Duke Docs may be on to something with the ICP theory. He wants to learn more about it. He thinks that my brain will continue to try to rewire itself even if the nerves are badly stripped. He firmly believes that the brain is constantly trying to get healthy, so it will always keep healing. Very encouraging report from him.
So, my trip to NYC was a success. The Docs were wonderful and really understood what I am going through.
And spending five days with my sister was super. We ate well, had dinner with two of my cousins and even got to go to the 9/11 memorial. I am a happy camper.
