Pregnancy and Topamax Empty

Hello Smile

I posted my first post the other day mentioning that before I was diagnosed in July me and my partner had been trying for a baby, but since then we haven't really bothered due to doctors orders! Since I was diagnosed and after my LP I have been using birth control and at my last visit with my neuro last week I had a pregnancy test which came back negative, this afternoon after going to my GP for what I thought was a water infection on Wednesday he informed me that I am in fact pregnant! This has come as a complete shock to me and I am now completely worried about what will happen as I have been taking Topamax for the last couple of weeks and also Diamox prior to that. Has anyone got any advice? I have booked an appointment with my GP for Monday to discuss things more but I know I am going to worry over the weekend thinking that I have harmed my unborn baby due to taking this medication.

I'm sorry for the delayed reply. If you have any questions regarding meds, I always recommend talking to the pharmacist. They seem to know the most about drugs, side effects, and interactions. Hopefully all your questions will be answered at GP appt today, but you can also check [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] for more info.

Good luck today, and congratulations!
