Hello all!
Well last time i posted on here I was concerned that the diamox could possibly giving me a "bounce back" kind of headache, and by that I mean that I have my daily pounding IIH headache, but when I take my diamox I get a different headache almost like a migraine.
After much chasing, and by that I mean STALKING, of my Neurologist he agreed to a telephone consultation. We discussed my symptoms and he agreed it could be a possibility that the diamox was triggering a headache. He didn't want to lower the dose as the dose I'm on is barely controlling my ICP as is, so he suggested splitting my daily dose of 1000mg up into 3 doses, 250mg as soon as I wake, 250mg approx 2pm and the remaining 500mg as usual at night. I've been doing this for about a week and blow me down with a feather if i don't feel a bit better! I still have my usual pounding headache, dizziness and whooshing in my ears, but gone is the sudden debilitating, sharp headache and the fatigue is much better!
I assume this is because I'm not getting the "hit" of 500mg diamox first thing? Whatever it is or however it's working I don't really care. All I know is that I'm not as tired or losing my temper at my son as much, I'm still struggling through the day but it's more an up hill climb than scaling a mountain!
Thank you to everyone who offered me advice on my last post. I wouldn't suggest that people follow my lead and alter your meds as I have done, without first speaking to your Neuro, this solution may not be for everyone. xx
