| Endometrial Ablation to prevent or help heavy irregular menstruation Endometrial ablation
So tomorrow I have my "womb audition" to determine whether or not I can have the endometrial ablation, that will finally put a stop to my painful and very inconvenient heavy fortnightly periods, because this ablation stops your periods fullstop, although you still need contraceptives It doesn't really sort out my PCO problem, but as my hormones are my IIH trigger, it will stop my pressure going up everytime I have a period. First though, I've got to have a hysteroscopy to see whether or not my womb is "suitable", which is why I call it an womb audition. I shall keep you updated on how it goes, and if I have the ablation what it's like etc and if it makes a big difference. Heidi

| It doesn't sound like a good time, but hopefully you'll get some much needed relief once it's all done! Good luck Heidi! |

| Finally had it done today, and we're good to go. I'm now on the waiting list and hopefully it will all be done and dusted by Christmas. |

| I'm still waiting to hear when I have my Endometrial ablation and it will be interesting afterwards to see if it has made a difference to my IIH, especially as mine is triggered by my hormones which as we know come from your ovaries. If it works I hope to be able to then share my experience with those of you who suffer painful and heavy periods and who aren't planning on more children, who may be interested in this procedure. |

| I'm 3 months on from the Endometrial ablation and it has worked brilliantly, and the difference has been amazing. I would recommend it to anyone who has completed their family, and not planning on any more children, but have heavy irregular periods, which also affect your IIH. This procedure stops menstration or at least makes it lessen, it doesn't stop you from getting pregnant though. In my case it has stopped them completely.
