| Well we've had nothing but rain and hail stones for days now, so my headaches have been shocking :x All I seem to have done is take cocodomol and sleep. I find it annoying because it means I'm not getting any exercise but what can you do  I'm just keeping my fingers crossed the weather changes and soon!

| It's the atmospheric pressure, it affects everyone and can give them headache, but unfortunately because we suffer from intracranial pressure it affects us more. You can read about barometric headaches in the Related conditions to IIH category. Sadly there isn't much we can do to avoid these kind of headaches apart from take painkillers, use 4head strips or a cold flannel. So next time you tell someone about your headache with the weather, you can explain why now |

| Here in the UK we tend to get a lot of rain and overcast days. In fact we've got one today, so the head's very muggy. I did have a corker of a headache earlier but I've taken painkillers since then and had a rest, so it's eased a bit. |

| Hi All,To be quite honest with you I have barometric headache very rare, but I am looking to this subject from different perspective and I would suggest another solution that you might try if you have difficulty in getting adjusted with the shifting ambient temperature. I guess you need to invest on a good set of thermal jackets. That way you will loose body heat slow during cold weathers and you can just slowly shed them when the temperature gets hot. Normally our skin and nervous system regulates basal body temperature quickly as the temperature around us changes. I guess you’ve had seen before people from the very hot countries such as Yemen, Mauritania, Morocco. In the desert they wear heavy clothing both during the summer and the winter and with that method they could cope up with varying temperature. However, I guess having IIH, being stressed and other factors may have caused your system to go haywire. Just stick with your medications, watch for the weather forecast so you can predict ahead and for the cold swells, the thermals will do the trick. I hope all would be well with you and I hope my post will help as well.Saleh |
