I have had my VP shunt for about a year and a half now. The portion of the catheter that runs through my neck has been particularly itchy the past few days. I am unsure if this is a common occurrence or if I should be worried and call my neurosurgeon. I do not want to pester a man so busy with something that could be nothing. Any advice could be helpful. I am so sorry I have only just seen this post. I haven't experienced itching like you describe, so I wouldn't like to speculate as to what it is. I would have to advise seeing your doctor to check it out. I'm sorry I can't give you a definite answer of what it might be, but you do need a medical professional for that I'm afraid.
