I have just noticed, especially when I read outloud, that I have difficulties reading.  I start to slur my words and get very confused with recognizing and saying the words.  This makes my job difficult since I work with special needs kids and have to read to them aloud.  Does anyone else seem to be having this difficulty as well?

Sometimes my vision is too messed up to read, but I haven't really tried reading aloud. I do have slurred speech and issues with recall, but, if this is new symptom for you, I recommend contacting your physician.

I just realized the problem with reading aloud, my sister came to visit and we have always read to each other. I would skip or reread parts without realizing until she said that it made no sense. It didn't always happen but when it did I realized I had other issues that clued me in that my pressure was up.

I have these problems when my pressure is raised, I've noticed it also happens with bad weather too, which also affects my pressure. So be reassured you're not alone with these symptoms. Keep a symptom log and it will help you to map the pattern of this happening, you've already noticed it happens when your pressure is raised, and this you have great self awareness of your symptoms, the triggers and the effects. That's a good place to start.hug

Thank you guys for all the support!  It's nice to know that I'm not alone!  I also have some awesome kids in my Special Ed classes who are extremely patient with me when I'm reading.  But I just wanted to say thank you!! thank you

Desi, perhaps your pressure has come back up again.  Were you put back on Diamox after this last lp? If you were not, I would guess that might be the problem.   You responded well before to it, perhaps your pressure is out of control, like Julie had said, and needs to be lowered and then managed though meds.

I'm taking 1000 mg of Diamox daily and have been since the last LP.  I figured it was my pressure.
