Hello All

I was diagnosed July last year. My sight was gone in the mornings and intermittent throughout the day but luckily I rarely experience headaches.

Anyway the past 4/5 months everything has been fine I'm on actezolamide twice a day and that seems to have done the trick

My query is I have sooo many appointments. I went from having to pay to see an opthamologist privately because the NHS would not diagnose me to now having an opthamlogist, a neurologist and an opt-neurologist. I see them all like every 4 weeks or so but really feel like I could just see one of them? Especially as the appointments are always during work hours and all 3 consultants always say the same thing plus my symptoms have gone completely

My preference would be the neurologist as I've found her the most helpful and my opt-neurologist is quite far away

Can I ask which specialist do you guys see and how often?

If I were you, given your presentation, I would stick with the neuro-ophthalmologist primarily, but ask to decrease the frequency of your appointments.  if you like the neuro, ask if you can see her every 3 months.  the ophthalmologist is probably redundant.

I'm so glad you have been so easily controlled with the Diamox.

Hi Robyn! I agree with Deb, I'd stick with the neuro-ophthalmologist for ongoing appointments. I see mine every 6 months now, and don't see the others at all. The primary concern is loss of vision and they'll be able to detect any problems, prescribe medications, and order tests as needed.

I'm so glad the medication is working!!!
