Hello all,
I wanted to write and let you know about my recent hospital stay, it was not fun but boy am i glad that I went through it.
I was admitted Wed morning to have a 48 hour ICP bolt placed. It felt crazy to have a holl drilled into my head and then a rod sticking out of it for two days but it was hooked to a monitor that constantly monitored the pressure inside of my head. It was very interesting to see the pressures at different times. Doc said normal high was 20 on that machine mine would get up to 40 at different times for no reason sometimes or sometimes the alarm would sound even if i was just turning my head. So Friday I had a Cerebrial Angio done, they wanted to see if there was a narrowing in my vessels... (im reading from the chart note on this part) a 25 mg hg pressure drop was appreciated at the right transverse sigmoid junction. So I will be scheduled soon to have s stent of my transverse sinus.
I know there was talk of a blockage or a narrowing, but I am suprised of this, I am relieved that they seem to have figure it out though. Doc said there is 65 % chance headaches will get better and that it will almost surely get rid of the aweful whooshing. . If the HA's dont improve in six months I will have to go in for a shunt though.
Has anyone on here had a cerebrial angio? I havent read much about it, maybe it would help? The recovery is not bad. It seems worth ruling out. I do hope it helps, I would BE SO RELIEVED. Im confused though how stenting will help pressure?
