I find that some days I pee just as soon as the pills get digested, then other days I get no relief at all and feel and look swollen. Not sure why the diuretics work (or don't work!) like that.

I was on 80mg of Lasix (as of today) I noticed the same thing - 40mg didnt do anything for me and 80mg wasnt much better - I had some days where I "went" but nothing like the Pharmacist said it would be - She said "Oh you want to take this first thing and then plan on staying home for four hours because you will be running to the bathroom every ten minutes"..... I have yet to see that and have been on it a month. However, it wasnt doing anything for my headaches ie: pressure so today I was switched to Diamox Smile :(

Talk with your dr. I tired taking it on an empty tummy and that didnt make much of a difference for me either - It may just not be what your body needs.

Keep us posted!
fingers crossed you find what works!

Diamox helps to reduce the amount of fluid produced as opposed to Lasix which eliminates the fluid already there. I use both. I find I feel better if I take the Diamox in the morning. I am on a low dose so I don't feel the side effects anymore (been on them almost 2 years now). I try to keep pushing the fluids through and the diuretics seem to help keep them flushing through. Main thing is to keep the salt intake very low.
