Some people experience a low pressure headache a day or two after a lumbar puncture. If you've not had one before it can be quite frightening as it is more intense than a high pressure headache, and sitting upright can make it worse, and cause nausea and vomiting. Laying down eases the headache.

Low-pressure headaches result when CSF volume and pressure are reduced, more likely from a lumbar puncture or spontaneous or traumatic CSF leaks. There are things you can do to help a low pressure headache. How to help a low pressure headache
