hi

Diamox does change your sense of taste, with me is was to fizzy drinks - i couldn't drink diet coke which i loved.. by the time I was up to 3000 mg my sense of taste was complete gone .... tingling is a side affect of diamox ..... in the mouth, finger and toes

keeps a log of symtoms... of you get worried speak to your Dr xxx good luck hug

"entire mouth become numb and tingly including my tongue! has this happen to anyone?"

This happens to me too but I never noticed what food or drink causes it I will keep a log from tomorrow. I'm also on 1000g of diamox a week now and just find most food just tastes odd my taste buds are really off yet my sense of smell is really strong. A bit of strange one :hmmm:

Gemhod- i have definitely noticed different taste in carbonated beverages even sparkling water i have. no i wont drink soda. I cldnt imagine the effect of the side effects on 3000mgs a day! im so tired and get HORRIBLE heart burn all day long and my whole body tingles with just the 1000mg a day!
Morrise- i haven't started a log yet, i want to but im one of those people that will write in it and then completely forget about it LOL. So im assuming you were just recently diagnosed also? has the Diamox made you tired or have heartburn?

I was diagnosed 2 years ago but only had it for 6 months and then I went into remission for a year never needed such a high dose back then. I have it back 6 months now but just seem to have got worse as the months have gone on :( Had another LP last Thursday and my pressure was so high I had to up the dose. I do have alot of heartburn which I never experienced before so just more discomfort. I have been off work the last week and will be off for another two weeks just to give myself time to get use to this dose. I am so tired all he time I have no energy and just want to lie in bed all day :(

oh that's suxs it came back again :( ya ive been on it for 8 days now and haven't had headaches in like 3 days just weirdness in my head lol dnt really know how to explain it really. i work a 40 hr week as a baker and the Diamox definitely doesn't make it easy getting up at 3am lol but i guess id rather deal with the side effects than the blindness and headaches, just cldnt imagine taking anything higher than the 1000mg a day

I became immune to diamox at such a believe it or not my body rejected it that is why I ennded up on such a high dose! that it why they shunted me !!

you must eat potassium rich food such as tomatoes, baked potatoes, raisins, bananas when you are on it as and drink lots. potassium also helps with fatigue.

to be honest I have blocked it from my mind it was a few years ago it did make me feel crap but it was better than the IIH so .........the tingling did drive me mad it used to drop things all the time.

xxx
