IIH and Pregnancy?
Can you still get pregnant with IIH?
Can you still have children with IIH?

Hi, can you have children with this condition my doc says I would have to come off the diamox which can be distressing and I would have to regular lumbar punctures but doesn't recommend it at the moment. I am worried I'm nearly 30 I would really like to start a family I do have the worries that most women have that it could take awhile to get pregnant of course I'm not gonna put myself at risk.

Is there anyone else who has this and came off medication for awhile and got pregnant, if so what was it like??

You can still get pregnant with IIH and there are some sufferers who haven't had any problems during their pregnancy. I thought you might find this reassuring and helpful from the IH Research Foundation. IH and Pregnancy

I went through my whole pregnancy with IIH because that triggered it for me, but I wasn't diagnosed with it officially until afterwards. I had a normal pregnancy although I did have the headaches, and wasn't on any medication. I have to say though this was 23 years ago. I'm sure we have members who have experience with IIH and pregnancy much sooner than that, and will be able to give you more assurance.

Don't give up on the idea of having a family. I think that this information will also help to reassure you. Management of the pregnant IIH patient Hope this helps.
