I am so excited to find a place where I can find people that can relate to what I have and what it means to have PTC.  I am 45 female and I live in Montana USA.
My children are grown and on their own.  I am married.  I am fortunate that I can still work.  I hate it the most when the pressure builds and my short term memory starts to fail.  My husband has a great patience with me.   An mild example is when I went to make pizza.  I put the pizza in the oven and walked off.  I forgot to close the oven door!  The scary part is I thought this was ok.....  He just asked me when I thought the house was going to get warm enough to cook the pizza.  Opps.   That is usually the first sign of when I need to go back for another spinal tap.

I finally have found a neuro and eye doc that is on the same page and can work together and do not believe that I am Nuts....hehehehehe.  I currently take 1500 mg of Diamox a day, Trazodone for sleep, 800 mg Skelaton to relax those muscles, and Tramadol for pain management.  My last spinal tap was done 1/4/16 and the pressure was up again in the mid 20's.  I am currently trying desperately to avoid any type of shunt.

Welcome Sheila I'm so glad you've got doctors who are in sync with each other. It really makes a difference when you have confidence in your doctor and treatment plan. As to forgetfulness I've lost count of the times I've turned on a tap, then walked off and flooded the kitchen. There are many members who can tell you they've done similar things. When your body adjusts to your medication, you should find that these types of things happen less and less.

Whatever your worry or question, we are all here to support and help you, so you're not alone dealing with this condition.

Has anyone had kidney stones?  If so what are the signs and symptoms?  I woke up this morning with pain on my right side in the back.  Since my Diamox has been increased I am forever trying to drink enough.  Any suggestions?

Here is some information on Kidney stones I've not experienced this myself, and I hope the information puts your mind at rest. I would advise you to see your doctor, so he can investigate what's going on. Please let us know how you get on.
