Lazy eye anyone ? Empty
PostSubject: Lazy eye anyone ?   Lazy eye anyone ? I_icon_minitimeWed Aug 01, 2012 4:47 am

Does anyone else have a lazy eye who has been diagnosed with this? I am just wondering because I do have one--I have had it for years but it appears worse because I am overweight. I watched a video on YouTube that said that lazy eye is one of the characteristics of people with this condition. Has anyone read anything about this ?

I am just wondering if maybe I have had this disease for a lot longer than the past year or so.

Just curious...

yes, a 6th nerve palsy (inability to turn the eye outward) may occur with ICP.

I know this is an older post but I do have a lazy eye and it also appears worse after weight gain. I have had it my entire life as well.  My eye does not turn out but just has a slightly hooded appearance compared to my other eye.  It is more noticable when I smile.

that sounds more like a ptosis (eyelid lazy) than a strabismus (eye turning in or out).  I've always had a mild one too, but I don't think this is related to ICP.  I could be wrong though.

love your picture..... I get it.

hello, I too have a lazy eye but I learned at a young age to control it however when I woke one day with my eye going off on a tangent I realised something was wrong. I was that week diagnosed with iih and im now told that its probably a 6th nerve palsy and it is not helped by prism glasses. so im still training my eye and building up the nerve and muscle to get control of my again.

This is an old post, after my second VP shunt surgery my right eyelid has lowered by about 40% and remained that way ever since.  I was told by surgeon that it can happen as result of surgery.
